Cerritos Millennium Library

In 1984 the City of Cerritos contracted with Yamada Enterprises to provide a basic steel library book stack system for their original library on Bloomfield Ave. Eighteen years later we had the privilege of working with the same City Librarian, Waynn Pearson and design team, Charles Walton and Associates on their 42,000 square foot addition and renovation.

It is the first building of its kind in North America with a titanium exterior. The library interior is divided into six distinctly different themed areas, ranging from old world to futuristic. The new 82,500 square foot state of the art facility houses approximately 300,000 books and 1,200 data ports offering high-speed internet access to its patrons.

Our scope of work included new steel book stacks with high performance integral lighting and a sophisticated blend of uniquely designed book stack end panels. In addition, a variety of standard and custom designed furniture and seating was provided throughout the library to complement the “themed” environment.
