Alhambra Civic Center Library
This is one of the busiest libraries in the State of California, circulating as many as 500 items an hour. The current library building was opened in 1975 and extensively remodeled in 2008 using the architectural firm of Charles Walton and Associates. Yamada Enterprises provided steel cantilever library shelving with custom end panels. The library furniture by Worden includes the Folio, Grand Series, American Classics and Turner lines. The childrens library furniture is by TMC Furniture and includes Algonquin lounge chairs, Wyoming and Lorca side chairs, as well as Lorca tables & stools.
Anaheim Central Library
The Anaheim Central Library located at 500 W. Broadway was built in 1963. It is currently in the final phase of an extensive renovation using the architectural firm of Charles Walton and Associates. The childrens area has been completed and is currently open, while other areas are temporarily located off-site during the construction. Yamada Enterprises provided steel library shelving with sheer plexiglass end panels and TMC Furniture.
East Hills Branch Library
The East Anaheim Branch Library opened in 2007 in Anaheim Hills. The interior offers panoramic views and an atrium wall, at some points soaring to thirty feet. Yamada Enterprises provided the library furniture. Worden furniture includes Folio tables and carrels, Trax tables, Cummings chairs, American Classics lounge chairs and occasional tables. TMC Furniture includes Lorca benches, tables and chairs; Arc book bins and Wyoming task chairs. The children's library features a story telling area with furnishings by Big Cozy Books.
Fontana Lewis Library
The Lewis Library and Technology Center, which opened in 2008, is located in a new building within the Fontana Civic Center. Their collection exceeds 142,000 items and includes 203 public use computer workstations. The library is divided into three uniquely designed sections: Adult, Teen and Children's areas. Yamada Enterprises provided steel cantilever library shelving with custom end panels. The library furniture by TMC includes Algonquin lounge chairs; Lisbon, Wyoming, Couture, Lorca and Kestrel chairs; a puppet stage; museum bench; and Arcadia and Pilston carrels.
Le Lycée Français School
The Kabbaz High School campus of Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, a private, bilingual school, was newly opened in 2009 after a renovation. Yamada provided Estey steel bookstacks and TMC Furniture including Lorca Tables, Wyoming Chairs, and Whistler lounge furniture. Our custom work included a circulation desk, workstations, counters and end panels.
MacArthur Park Branch Library
This branch of the Long Beach Public Library is also known as the Mark Twain Neighborhood Library. It is a 16,155 sq. ft. new construction project that was completed in 2007 using CWA Architects located in Glendale, California. Yamada Enterprises provided library furniture, a Kinglsley book return and steel cantilever bookstacks. Worden furniture includes the Diametron line as well as custom tables and computer workstations. TMC Furniture includes Wheatland and custom carrels, Lorca tables and chairs, Algonquin lounge chairs, Flick side chairs, and Marseilles settees.
Monrovia Public Library
The new 28,000 sq. ft. public library opened in 2009, after a 2-year, $16 million construction project. Yamada Enterprises provided library furniture, Estey steel cantilever shelving and Mayline map files. The children's area features colorful TMC furniture with cut-outs from their Wheatland, Lorca, Wyoming and MySpot lines. The teen area includes TMC Whistler modular lounge furniture, EnShell chairs and Fixtures Furniture tables. The adult areas feature more classically designed Worden furniture in dark wood using Academy tables, Rhodes chairs and American Classics lounge chairs.
Santa Maria Public Library
The Santa Maria Public Library, located in Santa Barbara County, opened in 2008. The new construction project consisted of a 60,821 sq. ft. building designed by bfgc Architects Planners. This sizeable library circulates over a half a million items per year. Yamada Enterprises provided steel library bookstacks with custom end panels and OPAC stations, Kingsley book depositories and library furniture. The TMC furniture includes Kestrel tables and chairs, Marseilles lounge chairs, and Arcadia carrels.
Viewpoint School
Viewpoint School, located in Calabasas, is one of the largest independent schools in California. Two libraries on campus service different grades…Prinn Library and the new Fletcher Family Library which opened in the fall of 2009. Together, they house over 21,000 books and 750 videos/DVDs. Yamada Enterprises furnished both libraries with Estey steel shelving and custom OPAC end panels. We provided wood shelving by Worden, Urbana Jumble ottomans and Zoom Seating task chairs. Worden furniture lines included café chairs, Alcott tables & atlas stand, Express lounge chairs and 400 Series drum tables.
